Reviews and Ratings
I had a mixed experience at this hotel. While the rooms were nice and quiet, they didn't quite match up with the pictures, and the overall feel was a bit dated. On the bright side, the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, even going out of their way to alert us to an upcoming storm. The location was lovely, surrounded by nature, and conveniently located for exploring nearby attractions. Although the dining options were good, some of the hot items could have been warmer.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The room I stayed in had some cleanliness issues, with errant hair and dead bugs on the walls in the small bathroom that felt like a sauna due to poor ventilation. On the bright side, the staff were incredibly nice and helpful, and I must say, I had one of the best burgers at the restaurant. The location was a mix of beautiful views and the need for a car to get around. The dining experience was good, although the selection could be improved.
The hotel had some drawbacks with its rooms being small, poorly maintained, and without convenient outlets, but it offered beautiful views of the lake. The service was lacking friendliness and helpfulness, and the dining options were limited. On the positive side, the location provided stunning panorama views, and the early breakfast time was convenient for travelers.
The hotel offers a unique setting outside Kirkjubæjarklaustur, ideal for excursions with scenic views. The rooms are more like standalone duplex units, providing an excellent sunset view overlooking the glacier; however, they resemble a hostel or warehouse. The dining experience is top-notch with a wide variety of high-quality dishes, and the location is directly above the room, offering beautiful surroundings.
The hotel rooms may be small and dated, but they are clean and the staff provides a very warm welcome. The rooms are a good size, clean, and have basic decor but are more than adequate. They feature key card entry, a good bathroom with plenty of light, a small closet, 2 chairs and a small table, as well as coffee supplies, reminiscent of a budget hotel in the USA. The view from the rooms is beautiful.
I found the hotel to be a cozy place with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The rooms were a bit small and dated but very clean, making for a comfortable stay. Despite some minor flaws, the overall experience was pleasant.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, although a bit outdated, were spacious and had large windows that provided great lighting. However, noise from the restaurant below was a disturbance. The service was top-notch, especially when I needed help for an injury. The location overlooking a lake and the sea was stunning but lacked information about all the great facilities available. The dining experience was average, with room for improvement. Overall, a decent stay with some room for enhancement.
